The model Hana arrived early that morning. The stylists welcomed her in and quickly brought her to a chair and made her comfortable. Then, they began the consultation. She needed a new look—something stylish—and she wanted to neutralize the reds in her hair. She had not been to a salon in several months, and her hair needed a bit of a TLC. Stylists Yukari Katayama and Takahiro Araki suggested a color close to her natural hair color and a cut with feminine bangs that framed her face. One of the hair models wanted a digital perm – a unique Japanese hair perm, while our second model opted for a double-process hair color, a conditioning treatment, and a haircut. Great Deal for Japanese Digital Perm So what exactly is a digital perm? Created and perfected in Japan, the digital perm uses heat to give the hair its shape memory and it also strengthens the condition of the hair. It gives hair a 3-D effect with flexible waves and curls, without making the hair stiff or dull – and its effects are extremely long-lasting. Let’s see the process for ourselves on our first hair model. Digital perm chemicals being applied to the hair Our first model wanted to shake up her very long and somewhat lifeless tresses with some bouncy curls as well as a boost of shine. After a detailed hair analysis by the stylist, it was decided that the digital perm would be the perfect treatment for what she wanted, and he proceeded to prep her hair for the treatment. First, the chemicals were carefully applied to her hair and given time to set. The stylist then did a ‘test curl’ to check how the hair was reacting to the perm process, and to ensure that there would be no hair damage. The stylist does a test curl to check the condition of the hair After a gentle shampoo and thorough rinse, the hair was cut to accommodate the best shape of the curls, then rolled in plastic curlers.Using a special heat-emitting machine, the hair was then heated to activate the curling effects of the digital perm. Our hair model amused at her ‘Marie-Antoinette’ look Once the rollers were taken out, her hair was rinsed and treated with a deep conditioner; then it was time for the style and finish. With expert blow drying and finger-curling techniques by the stylist, the digital perm was completed and left our hair model looking gorgeous with her new look. New York Style Hair Color with Highlights Our next beautiful model is a young Asian-American woman with previously-bleached hair. She came hoping that she could have a fun look without damaging her hair further, and her stylist did everything possible to deliver. The stylist took special care to only apply bleach to her virgin hair, including avoiding folding the foil to keep the application precise. After washing out the bleach, the stylist created the perfect shade of purple to match the photograph our model brought in. After applying the dye to the bleached ends, the end color is an amazing dip-dye/gradation of bright purple! Both our hair models felt completely relaxed knowing that they were being given 5-star service by Hayato’s hair experts – and wouldn’t hesitate going back for another change in their look.

She has collaborated with artists all over the US and partaken in several live art performances. Anmi moved to NY in her formative years in search of art and inspiration. A keen art enthusiast, anmi formed her own style inspired by art exhibitions, museums and books. She integrates the concepts of surefire techniques, speedy application, creative designs, proper sanitation and reasonable prices. With cutting edge technology and perfected techniques she can save time on cutting and filing and devote it to her painting. Sometimes she is so fast, she has to wait for the 5-second LED nail dryer! For this session, Lavanya brought some photos of Baja CA, Mexico where she will be travelling on her bicycle. anmi was delighted and inspired by the mix of desert landscape and bicycle camping. In fact, she ended up adding a few of her own ideas of Mexican design. Very entertaining to watch, she keeps her customers enthralled. In a short amount of time, there are ten complex, high-resolution pictures on your fingertips. Then she applies two additional coats – one to strengthen the artwork and another to provide protection against the elements. If you frequent hot springs, swimming pools or the beach, not to worry! These products will ensure the art will stay put for a long time. The session finishes with a relaxing forearm scrub massage leaving your hands looking and feeling great. This work was inspired by Lavanya’s upcoming cycling trip through the desert Baja California, Mexico. The nail arts are still this beautiful after 2 week growing out!
